New Software Lets Businesses and Consumers Affordably Map Their Own Information, Imbed Digital Images and Web links, and Much More

YARMOUTH, Maine, February 4, 2003-DeLorme, the leading innovator of digital mapping and location technologies, today announced the availability of Street Atlas USA 2003 Plus. This software builds upon the award-winning titles Street Atlas USA 2003 and XMap® Business, combining key features from each of these DeLorme titles and adding new functionality for the advanced map user. The core of the new functionality is the Document Management system, which allows users to dynamically link icons to any type of digital document on detailed maps of the entire U.S.

"The key to producing useful mapping software is to allow users to easily and affordably integrate their own data," said David DeLorme, company founder. "The XData and Document Management tools we have included in Street Atlas USA 2003 Plus make it easy for users to locate and connect their customer lists, real estate photos, Web URLs, and even wiring diagrams to geographic locations on a map."

Improving on an Award-Winning Base Street Atlas USA 2003 Plus is built directly on the Street Atlas USA 2003 base. It includes all of the functionality from that package, including new GPS tools, print tools, advanced searching and routing capabilities, and updated points of interest. It also includes all of the XData tools from the XMap Business line, including the easy-to-use Import Wizard and a variety of Query tools. This XData component lets users import almost any type of custom data and quickly see their customer geographic distribution, asset locations, or marketing and sales opportunities. It's easy to import data from ACT!®, Goldmine®, Microsoft® Excel, and a variety of other common text files. The major enhancement is the new Document Management tool, which lets users link key locations on the map to their documents-everything from real estate photos to utility wiring diagrams to mobile workforce orders. Street Atlas USA 2003 Plus also allows large-format printing from plotter-size printers, ideal for businesses that need to display large printouts for decision-making and planning purposes.

Includes a Wealth of New Data and Functionality
Street Atlas USA 2003 Plus includes more than 200,000 updated streets covering 6.2 million streets across the U.S., the most extensive mapping update available in many years. It also includes new functionality that allows users to draw in new local roads, which are then routable and searchable within the database. This is an exclusive DeLorme tool, not available in any other consumer-level mapping software. Also included are over 4.2 million points of interest, the most extensive library of such listings available. These points-of-interest allow users to find hotels, restaurants, banks, schools, colleges, attractions, and other locations. The geo-locating of these points of interest has been vastly enhanced to ensure optimum positional accuracy.

    Optional Nationwide Phone Listings
Nationwide telephone listings are also available as an optional dataset, including over 116 million listings. These telephone listings are available on either a single DVD or a set of CDs, and include over 94 million residential numbers and 22 million businesses. A variety of search tools allow the data to be sorted by name, street, city, state, ZIP Code, or yellow page headings. Simply click on a street and immediately see all the homes and phone numbers displayed. Street Atlas USA 2003 Plus also includes 2000 U.S. Census demographic information.

    Pricing and Availability
Street Atlas USA 2003 Plus is available directly from DeLorme for $99 without phone data, or $149 with nationwide phone listings (available on a single DVD or multiple CDs). Street Atlas USA 2003 Plus runs on Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, Me, XP, or NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 or later. For additional information, call (800) 452-5931 or visit the DeLorme Web site at www.delorme.com/streetatlasplus/.
