Leica Geosystems has introduced the new RUGBY 100LR series of lasers for the construction industry.
The RUGBY 100LR is an automatic long-range self-leveling general construction laser for exterior jobs of any size, large or small. According to Dan Dykhuis, program director of lasers for Leica Geosystems, “The RUGBY 100LR is a result of listening to our customers. It is built to be rugged yet easy to use, and can make quick work of concrete forming, pad placement and framework, setting foundations and footings, as well as elevation indication for heavy equipment.”
The RUGBY 100LR has a working range of up to 2,500 ft. (770 m.), automatic elevation alert function, manual grade up to ± 10% with cross-axis self-leveling. Operation is fully automatic, and all user functions are clearly marked on the easy-to-learn keypad. Out-of-level and low-battery indicator lights are also provided. The co-molded housing of high-impact plastic and rubber is waterproof and dustproof, and is designed to work reliably in all weather and job site conditions.
“The new laser products are built along the same principles that guided the development of the earlier product, the RUGBY 100, which received an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from dealers and users worldwide,” said Dykhuis. “With the new system, customers can look forward to the same level of reliability and robustness.”
Dykhuis noted that the RUGBY 100LR is the first Leica-branded product combining the heritage and expertise of Laser Alignment and Leica Geosystems.
