What Is Mobile GIS?
Mobile geographic information system (GIS) technology enables workers to access an enterprise GIS in real time for decision making and analysis directly in the field.
Recently, software and hardware developments have provided for dramatic improvements in the efficiency
of mobile GIS. This seminar will explore how ESRI's ArcPad software suite (supported by ArcGIS 8.3 technology),
Trimble's GeoExplorer CE field devices (along with GPScorrect and GPS Pathfinder Express), and data from Tele
Atlas North America can be combined with services and training offered through BCS in order to deliver a strong
solution for mobile GIS. At the end of the seminar there will be opportunities for hands-on field experiences
with the latest equipment.
Presentation Topics:
Mobile GIS: What It Is and How It Will Provide Value
ArcPad 6 Overview With Application Builder
Trimble GeoExplorer CE Devices–GeoXMTM and GeoXTTM
