MDA Introduces New Local Authority Search Product in Scotland

Richmond, B.C. – MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA) announced today that the company has completed testing of a new Local Authority search product in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and is now beginning the process of rolling it out throughout Scotland.

Called Property Enquiry Certificates, or “PECs”, the new search product incorporates information from Local Authorities in Scotland into existing databases at Millar & Bryce. Until now, the company’s products have been based on information derived from central government sources.

“By retrieving information from local government sources, PECs expand the comprehensive information packages that we already offer solicitors involved in the conveyancing process,” said Bernie Clark of MDA’s Information Products Group. “We can provide essential information to solicitors about future plans for development in the community, the availability of utilities, whether the property is subject to a repairs order, and any potential problems that a buyer might be faced with.”

MDA Information Products are available throughout the United Kingdom in England, Wales and Scotland.
