Garmin to Bundle Pumatech's Intellisync Synchronization Software with Its Palm OS-Based iQUE 3600 PDA Device

SAN JOSE, Calif.--May 14, 2003-- Pumatech's Intellisync(R) Lite Software To Provide Advanced Synchronization Capabilities To Users Of First PDA Featuring Integrated GPS Technology

Pumatech, Inc. (Nasdaq:PUMA), a leading provider of synchronization software and services, today announced that Garmin International, Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (Nasdaq:GRMN), a leader in Global Positioning System (GPS) technology and an innovator in consumer electronics, has selected Pumatech's Intellisync(R) Lite software to supply PIM-related synchronization capabilities for its new, iQue(TM) 3600 handheld device - the first PDA to include integrated GPS technology. Pumatech's Intellisync Lite software will be bundled with the iQue 3600 to offer synchronization of calendar, contact and task data between the new Palm OS(R)-based PDA and the Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Organizer software applications.

In addition to bundling Intellisync Lite with its new iQue 3600 PDA, Garmin currently integrates Pumatech's Intellisync synchronization engine into its NavTalk GSM phone, providing synchronization of address book information with Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, ACT! and Palm Desktop software.

"As the first PDA with integrated GPS capabilities, the iQue 3600 provides a unique solution for mobile business users and active consumers," said Gary Kelley, Garmin's director of marketing. "To maximize the utility of the iQue 3600, however, we felt it was essential to provide reliable synchronization between our PDA and the Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Organizer PIM applications. Pumatech's Intellisync Lite software delivers this solution by supplying our customers with a high level of out-of-the-box synchronization functionality that they can begin using right away."

The Garmin iQue 3600 PDA uses Palm OS 5 - PalmSources's latest version of the industry's leading operating system for handhelds, smart phones and other devices - to drive a robust set of applications. Powered by the new Motorola DragonBall MXL ARM microprocessor, the iQue 3600 provides users with enhanced application performance such as fast screen re-draw, sharp graphics and high-fidelity audio quality for its built-in MP3 Player. The iQue 3600 boasts internal memory of 32 megabytes, a Secure Digital memory expansion slot, and a brilliant 320x480-pixel transflective TFT color display. Additionally, the product integrates Garmin's new Que(TM) technology -- the company's premier application that delivers the benefits of GPS-based location awareness and navigation to PDA users in a friendly format.

"Intellisync Lite is an ideal complement to a GPS-enabled device like the iQue 3600," explained Clyde Foster, Pumatech's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "By adding sophisticated synchronization of PIM data to the global positioning capabilities of the iQue 3600, Garmin is providing its customers with ready access to a wealth of information - anytime and anywhere. The total solution enables customers to operate with maximum efficiency while away from the office or home."

Garmin iQue 3600 owners are entitled to upgrade to the full version of Intellisync for the special price of $49.95 - a savings of $20. By upgrading, iQue 3600 users gain extra features such as support for additional PC applications, data filtering, conflict resolution, synchronization of expenses and much more.
