Intergraph to Resell FME Products from Safe Software

Reseller agreement strengthens Intergraph's strategy to extend data access

NEW ORLEANS, May 20, 2003 - GeoSpatial World 2003 - Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions announced today that it will immediately begin reselling Safe Software's Feature Manipulation Engine (FME)(R) products, including FME Desktop Suite, FME Professional Suite, FME Intergraph Suite, FME Oracle Suite and the FME GDO for GeoMedia(R) WebMap. The FME Suite provides Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools for spatial data and supports more than 100 formats, including several Geography Markup Language (GML) 2 dialects. The FME GDO takes advantage of Intergraph's Geographic Data Objects (GDO) interoperability technology to extend GeoMedia WebMap capabilities to access even more geographic data in its native format.

"Reselling Safe's FME products with our GeoMedia solutions gives customers a convenient way to acquire all of the tools they need to extend data access and delivery workflows," said David Holmes, director of worldwide product strategy, Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions. "With GeoMedia's open data access functionality and FME's powerful high-data-volume transformation capabilities, organizations can be assured of productive workflows as they share and integrate data from a variety of sources and formats."

FME complements GeoMedia's data access capabilities by providing users with data transformation technologies for highly productive mass data migration. Coupling FME and GeoMedia proves particularly beneficial to users as they migrate to new environments or when they need an automated means to deliver data in different formats to customers.

Safe Software is a Team GeoMedia Registered Solutions Center member and an exhibitor (booth 202) at GeoSpatial World 2003. Dale Lutz from Safe Software, will be speaking on "GML: User Perspectives" Wednesday, May 21, at 11:30 am. Lutz will also present "Solving Spatial Data Migration and Distribution challenges" on Wednesday, May 21, at 10 a.m. during the demo theatre.
