Radius Topology and GeoMedia joint solution presented to Benelux Intergraph community
Printer Friendly versionPrinter Friendly

Cambridge, UK, 14 April 2004. Laser-Scan were invited to showcase their Radius Topology and GeoMedia solution at Intergraph's GeoForum held in the Netherlands on 25th March. The presentation was very well received by Intergraph's Benelux user community and there are now more joint pilot projects planned for the region.

The event held in Intergraph's European Headquarters was attended by 150 Intergraph users and partners, predominantly from the local government and utilities sectors. The focus of the event was to share ideas and best practice within the Intergraph community.

Martin Gregory, Laser-Scan's Senior Consultant presented a paper entitled "Consistent spatial data through GeoMedia and Radius Topology". This joint solution allows Radius Topology to work seamlessly with GeoMedia Professional, GeoMedia Transaction Manager and GeoMedia WebMap in an Oracle9i environment. The combined use of these two products provides a powerful solution for advanced geospatial processing whilst maintaining the long-term integrity of geospatial data. It also offers spatial data consistency with full transparency to the user. The key benefit of this approach is to enable sustainable interoperability - interoperability that preserves data integrity over time.

Mark Bell, Senior Pre-sales Consultant at Laser-Scan, discussed joint initiatives that Intergraph and Laser-Scan are currently working on including the opportunity for academic organisations to use both Radius Topology and GeoMedia in their research work free of charge through Intergraph's RRL.

Pieter Jongert, Manager Intergraph Mapping & Geospatial Solutions The Netherlands, said:
Intergraph has signed a worldwide agreement with Laser-Scan to resell Radius Topology. In the Benelux region there are many organisations that can benefit from the combined Intergraph and Laser-Scan solution and we believe this message was delivered effectively.

Laser-Scan's Radius Topology acts as a gatekeeper within this joint solution, by only allowing clean, accurate data to enter the Oracle database. This is not only a crucial requirement for enterprise-wide data management, but ensures that customers have accurate data for accurate decisions.

Intergraph is a worldwide reseller of Radius Topology and Laser-Scan is a member of Intergraph's Synergy, Registered Solutions Centre and Registered Research Laboratory programmes.
