Merrick & Company Awarded Photogrammetric Basemap Contract for the City of Casper, Wyoming, USA

Aurora, CO USA - Merrick & Company, a world leader in LIDAR, digital ortho imaging, photogrammetry and GIS mapping announces a new contract with the City of Casper, Wyoming to update their geographic information system basemap. Using airborne global positioning systems and ground control surveys, Merrick will obtain new aerial photography of Casper and surrounding areas to create black and white digital orthophotography and update the City's planimetric features. Awarded in December 2004, the City will receive final delivery in September 2005.
Gary Outlaw, Vice-President GIS Business Development states, "We are pleased that Casper has chosen to work with us again. We have performed several projects for the City, including 3 basemap updates, most recently in 2000."
Liz Hepp, GIS Manager, City of Casper explains, "Merrick has always done a great job for us. Their costs are very competitive and they are great to work with."
Hepp continues, "We have experienced increased building in recent years, including many new subdivisions. City staff needs the updated maps for their daily work. "
