Geographic Calculator 6.2 Now Available Featuring Improved MS Excel Support!

Gardiner, Maine – December 13, 2004 - Blue Marble Geographics (www.bluemarblegeo.com) announces the release of a new version of the world’s most recognized coordinate conversion software, the Geographic Calculator 6.2. Blue Marble has been writing GIS software tools and solutions for over 11 years. The calculator is used world wide by thousands of basic to advanced GIS analysts at universities, oil and gas companies, civil engineering, surveying, technology, enterprise GIS groups, and military organizations. Version 6.2 is available free to customers with active annual support agreements.

"In this release we improved our Microsoft Excel import and export capabilities based on direct customer feedback. We also added many new features aimed at making the tool even easier to use," said Blue Marble President Patrick Cunningham.

The Geographic Calculator is the defacto standard for coordinate conversion software in today’s GIS industry. This new version improves import and export of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The calculator can now recognize multiple formats from excel and include header row information on the point database tab. There is also a new easy to use Antipode calculation button. The user can now easily and automatically swap coordinates from side to side in the main screen. We’ve also brought back the Copy/Paste popup menu for edit boxes in the Interactive conversion tab along with other new features. There is a new Transverse Mercator calculation for increase accuracy along with extended coordinate system support for HARN datum, Singapore Map Grid, South Africa CAPE Datum, South Africa LO System, and the Krovak Coordinate System.
