GITA Announces Annual Conference 27 Speaker Award Recipients

June 8, 2004: Aurora, Colo. — The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) has announced the 2004 Speaker Award winners from its recent Annual Conference 27 in Seattle, Wash. The award recognizes the top five percent of session speakers, each of whom were rated by session attendees in the areas of quality of presentation, visual aids, session content, and relevance of topic.
Recognized as the leading educational association dedicated to geospatial information, GITA has developed a reputation for bringing together industry leaders to present papers, take part in panel discussions, and participate in seminars at the association’s annual conference. Using their industry knowledge in addition to effective presentation skills, these speakers share their knowledge with GIS professionals.

Recognized GITA’s Annual Conference 27, which attracted 2,120 attendees, featured 91 educational sessions organized into 15 tracks ranging from data management to federal geospatial strategies. The conference also included 15 seminars and three panel discussions, as well as an exhibition hall with 134 vendors.
GITA’s Annual Conference 28 is set for March 6-9, 2005, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colo.
