GEOANALYTICS® PROVIDES TECHNICAL AND MANAGEMENT CONSULTING SERVICES

MADISON, WI – May 4, 2004 – GeoAnalytics®, Inc., a leading provider of geographic and land information systems (GIS/LIS) technology and management consulting, is assisting the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas with the design and implementation of an Enterprise GIS (E-GIS).
Since December 2001, GeoAnalytics has been providing technical and management consulting services to the Unified Government to support its multi-year implementation of an enterprise GIS. Initial services emphasized overall system planning and design, followed by the deployment of a geospatial data repository based on ArcSDE™ technology from Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) and relational database technology from Oracle. In addition, a web-browser based GIS data navigation and reporting application was deployed based on ESRI’s ArcIMS™ technology.
Current services include designing a master address data management system, supporting changes in governance and management of the E-GIS system, and assistance in the adoption of a formal policy for information access and sharing. “Despite tight government budgets, organizations like the Unified Government have seen the benefits of investing in well-planned enterprise information systems to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations, decision-making, and delivery of general public services,” said Peter Thum, president of GeoAnalytics.
Pursuit of an enterprise-wide GIS system has required involvement from multiple UG departments, thus ensuring a broad base of interest and support. “Our web-based GIS data access application is currently used by staff in almost every department,” says Gilbert Castro, Director of the newly formed Geospatial Services Division. “We are also planning to rollout a simpler version of the Web application for public use. This will further enhance access to, and use of, digital geographic information, not only within the organization, but within the community.”
