Goldsboro, NC - After a competitive selection process, the City of Virginia Beach has awarded Geographic Technologies Group, Inc., (GTG) a contract to lead the development of a GIS enterprise strategic plan. The project includes: (1) An enterprise level needs assessment that involves a comprehensive review of existing departmental GIS programs and business plans, (2) A conceptual system design that includes a GAP analysis between existing systems and desired outcomes, and, (3) A business plan that is based on the conceptual design with action strategies for proposed implementation. The project will focus on identifying strategies for improving city business processes using GIS technology. The GIS enterprise strategic plan will focus on the true and quantifiable Return on Investment (ROI) of GIS based technology.

Mr. David Holdstock, and Mr. Curt Hinton, Joint Project Managers said that, “this project will allow GTG to work closely with the City of Virginia Beach to continue to grow the successes of the city and design an effective plan for future use of geospatial technologies”. Mr. Robert Jessen, City of Virginia Beach, GIS Coordinator, communicated to us that, “Virginia Beach GIS is excited to have selected a vendor with GTG's expertise.
