Digital Dispatch Continues Diversification Strategy with New Contracts in Target Markets
Printer Friendly versionPrinter Friendly

Richmond, BC, April 4, 2005 – Digital Dispatch Systems Inc. (TSX: DD) continues to diversify its markets with new agreements in the paratransit and black car markets. In conjunction with Avail Technologies Inc., Digital Dispatch will provide vehicle location/mobile data terminal solutions to the WHEELS paratransit arm of Lexington Red Cross in Kentucky. This contract is in addition to the recently announced agreement for Lexington Yellow Cab in Kentucky and reinforces Digital Dispatch’s geographic thrust into the Mid-West. Additionally, a new contract with Charge and Ride Inc. of Long Island City, New York, expands Digital Dispatch’s presence in the black car market. The value of the two new contracts and associated service agreements is approximately $1 million.

WHEELS paratransit marks the Company’s seventh paratransit contract and utilizes a new solution integrating RouteMatch Software to Digital Dispatch’s Vector 530 mobile data terminals. “This contract is a big step forward for Digital Dispatch in the paratransit market. We are excited about the opportunity to work with Avail Technologies again. Our integration to RouteMatch should create more opportunities for us in the public transit domain in the near future,” said James Watson, Vice President of Business Development for Digital Dispatch.

In the black car market, Charge and Ride represents the eighth black car fleet to be equipped with Digital Dispatch mobile data terminals. Under the agreement, Digital Dispatch will supply Charge and Ride with 300 iPilot 8000 mobile computers with magnetic card reader and GPS receivers. The iPilot 8000’s color screen and support for various in-vehicle payment options enhances customer service, which is a key element of the black car service. The GPS will also provide Charge and Ride with the advantage of tracking its vehicles at all times.
