CHICAGO, IL – January 7, 2005 - Varion Systems, the software development and value-added reseller division of GeoAnalytics, today announced the release of PV.Web 2.1, the next generation of its award-winning GIS software.

The newest version of PV.Web includes the core functionality users have grown accustomed to, along with client requested enhancements and software improvements defined by Varion Systems. New enhancements include large format printing, enhanced zoom in and zoom out tools, dynamic measuring tools, and a more robust ‘Identify’ tool for digging deeper into user data. Administrative enhancements include better control over the grouping of data layers and their order within the legend.

PV.Web, an ESRI ArcIMS extension, is an out-of-the-box application that puts the power of real GIS in the hands of an entire organization by leveraging the organization’s enterprise data in its native format. The application can serve all users within and outside of an organization via Intranet or Internet. Users can easily navigate, browse, query, and report on both spatial and non-spatial land information. PV.Web 2.1 is a thin client that supports numerous data formats, images, and backend configurations including ESRI’s ArcSDE.

“Version 2.1 contains new functionality for end users as well as improvements to a variety of back end components,” said Varion Systems President Paul Braun. We are confident that this release will continue to please our current clientele and offer a strong product line to new customers.”
