Westminster, CO - Hitachi Software Global Technology, a leading provider of enterprise GIS systems, announces new functionality through its Any*GIS GeoAdapters. Built on Open Geospatial Consortium standards and open systems architecture, Any*GIS is a multi-tiered interoperable framework that integrates multiple GIS data sources. Any*GIS supports spatial data access and updating to OpenGIS® Simple Feature Specification data stores in Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, as well as proprietary formats from Autodesk, ESRI, Intergraph, MapInfo and GE Energy (Smallworld).
With the release of the new Any*GIS GeoAdapters, Any*GIS users will be able to seamlessly access and update data in the latest software versions from ESRI (ArcSDE® 9), GE Energy (Smallworld 4), and Autodesk (Autodesk Map™ 3D).
Current customers of Any*GIS include several of the world’s largest electric utilities, telecommunications companies, and local governments. Any*GIS’ support for the raster catalog service of ArcSDE will prove essential for companies that need to view imagery within the Autodesk environment. Users can also access annotation stored in ArcSDE.
"Until now, CAD users have had limited or no access to raster imagery stored in ArcSDE. We are very pleased to provide this functionality so that our users can fully access all of the geospatial data stored in their SDE system," stated Robert Carroll, vice president of sales and marketing at Hitachi, "With the new GeoAdapter functionality, Any*GIS offers utility designers the ability to combine data and functionality from many of the industry’s best software packages."
