Campbell County, Wyoming Selects GTG for GIS Data Development
Printer Friendly versionPrinter Friendly

Portland, Oregon – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announced today that Campbell County, Wyoming has selected GTG to develop a county-wide master address point layer. The project will yield a final GIS data layer that includes one point for each of over 12,000 addresses in the County. GTG’s professional services division has been tasked with aggregating address information from various enterprise databases and synthesizing a holistic and comprehensive address database; this database will be used to generate a derivative GIS data layer that will be rectified using industry standard remote- and field-based techniques. GTG aims to complete the project in mid October.

Andres Ferrate, GTG’s Vice President of Business Operations emphasized the benefits that the County will derive from the address point layer. “Local governments, such as Campbell County, are finding an increasing need for accurate and comprehensive location information. The use of street centerline interpolation and/or parcel centroid address matching is inherently limited, and we are pleased that the County will have a viable master address point layer that will yield benefits for its public safety and land management services. The County’s master address point layer is a fundamental base map layer that will quickly become a valuable component of the enterprise GIS.”
