Printer Friendly versionPrinter Friendly

Lady Robin (Katherine) Innes Ker joins Ordnance Survey with broad experience in a range of disciplines, including science, finance, media and communications. Since graduating in chemistry and gaining a doctorate in molecular biophysics at Oxford University, she has held director roles as a media analyst with both SBC Warburg and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. Also, her career has included top level experience at UBS Phillips & Drew, and Henry Ansbacher.

Her previous non-executive roles have been at ITV Digital plc (formerly ONdigital plc), Bryant Group plc, The Television Corporation plc (Chairman), and Williams Lea plc.

Lady Innes Ker's current non-executive responsibilities include director roles at Taylor Woodrow plc and Fibernet plc - chairing the remuneration committees at both. She is also Chairman of Shed Productions plc and The Tavistock Trust for Aphasia.

Brian Hadfield is an experienced business and organisational-change specialist. After an early career as a modern languages teacher, he joined Bank of Boston in 1978 and by the time he left in 1984 had established himself as Vice President for Operations. He later joined Unisys Corporation - holding several posts before becoming Managing Director of Unisys Ltd, and Vice President and General Manager UK, Middle East, Africa and India until he left in 2005.

Mr Hadfield is currently non-executive director at Sigma Technologies and Chairman of the Woburn Centre for Conservation and Education.

Welcoming the appointments, Ordnance Survey's Director General and Chief Executive, Vanessa Lawrence, says: "Brian Hadfield and Lady Innes Ker will bring a tremendous amount of external experience to our business.

"Our industry is in a constant state of growth and change - and the knowledge and expertise in terms of business, marketing, communications and finance brought by these two highly successful professionals will bring huge benefits to Ordnance Survey."

Mr Hadfield and Lady Innes Ker join two other Non-Executive Directors on the board at Ordnance Survey - Piers White and Mike Sommers.

Judith Anthony and Sir Michael Bett retire as Non-Executive Directors at Ordnance Survey after completing four years' service.
