Discover What’s New in ESRI’s ArcGIS Server at 9.2
Printer Friendly versionPrinter Friendly

Redlands, California — A free ESRI online seminar will demonstrate the power of ArcGIS Server 9.2 technology to quickly build Web-based mapping applications and publish geographic data as maps and globes for use on the Internet.

What’s New in ArcGIS Server at 9.2 will air on the Training and Education Web site at www.esri.com/training on December 14, 2006, at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. (Pacific standard time).

ArcGIS Server 9.2 is a complete Web-based GIS developer platform for building server applications that can be used by a variety of computer clients. The technology supports building many services including mapping; geoprocessing; geodata access; network analysis; Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC) Web Map Service (WMS); mobile data access; and Keyhole Markup Language (KLM).

The seminar will explain how ArcGIS Desktop users can publish geoprocessing models, map documents, and address locators as Web services using ArcGIS Server. Users of ESRI Web technology will also learn how to operate the new ArcGIS Server Manager, which allows them to manage servers and services and build high-performing Web mapping applications out of the box.

Developers also will learn how they can benefit from improvements made to the Java and .NET development environments. Examples include out-of-the-box Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) support and ArcGIS Mobile (.NET only) for building mobile applications with ArcGIS Server.

The seminar will also touch on ArcGIS Explorer, ESRI’s new, free, lightweight desktop client for ArcGIS Server 9.2, which can be used to view global imagery and conduct GIS analysis.

What’s New in ArcGIS Server at 9.2 is designed for people who are familiar with ESRI products. A broadband Internet connection and an ESRI global account are needed to watch the seminar. Creating a global account is easy and free and it only takes a few minutes to create by visiting www.esri.com/training, clicking on Login, and registering your name and address.

After the live presentation, the seminar will be archived and available on the ESRI Training and Education Web site.
