AURORA, Ill., Jan. 9-- Clarity Communication Systems Inc., a leading provider of Location-Based Services (LBS), has signed agreements with NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT - News) and Telcontar that will enable the delivery of LBS solutions that cover a full range of end-user needs.

NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, will provide Clarity with digital map data of the United States. Telcontar, a worldwide provider of location-based solutions for telematics, Internet and wireless platforms, will complement Clarity's LBS products and services with its Drill Down ServerŪ (DDS) geospatial software platform.

"We recognize that the success of today's location-based services is highly dependent on the rapid, customizable delivery of geographic data, points of interest, and real-time navigation," states Clarity CEO, Jim Fuentes. "The relationships with NAVTEQ and Telcontar provide us with more opportunity to deliver the added value and differentiation our customers need to fully benefit from the revenue potential of LBS."

Expansive digital map data for Clarity's LBS offerings will be provided by NAVTEQ. The solutions will feature graphic, text, and voice-prompted address- to-address, turn-by-turn directions; automatic re-routing; detailed street maps including important road network information such as one-way streets, turn restrictions, and speed categories; and convenient points of interest such as local ATMs, gas stations, parking and restaurants.

"Clarity Communication Systems was a category winner of the 2005 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge, and its success since the contest is a testament to the functionality and quality of its applications," commented Winston Guillory, Senior Vice President - North America Sales, NAVTEQ. "There is significant energy within the LBS industry, and we are thrilled to collaborate with expert companies such as Telcontar and Clarity Communication Systems to bring these LBS offerings to market."

Telcontar's Drill Down Server is the premier software platform for location-based services that quickly renders maps, and generates routes, and turn-by-turn directions for Clarity's LBS solutions. DDS's ability to deliver fast, powerful, and flexible access to spatial data has been documented by independent benchmarking evaluation to be unequaled in performance and scalability.

"Telcontar's DDS platform delivers unparalleled scalability and can instantaneously update thousands of routes affected by issues such as special events, changes in traffic patterns as well as handle millions of users accessing a site simultaneously," said J. Kim Fennell, CEO of Telcontar. "With companies like Clarity choosing our platform to enhance its solution, we know that DDS continues to drive innovation in the location-based services market."

Clarity's LBS solutions include family tracking services, navigation, points of interest information, and fleet tracking -- accessible from handsets or the Internet. Clarity solutions are 'network agnostic' and can be used across disparate wireless networks. Evaluation versions of Clarity's LBS solutions are available now.
