The City of McKinney, Texas Selects GTG to Implement New GIS Software Solution
Printer Friendly versionPrinter Friendly

Longview, TX – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announced today that the City of McKinney, Texas has procured additional product functionality from GTG’s LG GIS software suite. The City will be implementing additional search functionality for LGcrimes software to expand the City’s existing LG platform which already includes other GIS applications such as LGmobile, LGdispatch, LGaddress, GISmo, LGviewer, and GeoManager.

LGcrimes is an affordable and easy-to-use crime reporting, mapping and analysis software application designed for towns, cities and counties of all sizes and complexities. LGcrimes aids in the visualization and analysis of police incident information. The spatial distribution of crimes will allow law enforcement professionals to maximize the use of departmental assets to satisfy the ever-growing demand for critical services. Public Safety departments with limited budgets and staff can now take advantage of crime analysis technology while leveraging their organization’s investment in GIS technology.

James Kelt, GTG’s Regional Manager and director of GTG’s Texas office says, “McKinney, Texas is one of the fastest growing communities in the nation. They have implemented enterprise wide GIS solutions that serve both the public and various city departments. One important aspect to city officials is the value of GIS to the police department. This additional functionality will allow the police department to map and analyze crime database information such as arrests, accidents, citations, sex offender locations and 911 calls for service.”

The City’s continuing utilization of GTG’s LG products highlights the value of GTG products as an integrated and comprehensive set of GIS solutions that leverage the City’s investment in their current applications. As with other fast-growing communities, the City of McKinney has embraced cutting-edge technology to improve public safety services for its citizens.
