Printer Friendly versionPrinter Friendly

ROCHESTER, NY - November 27, 2006 - Pictometry International Corp., the worldwide leader in digital, aerial oblique imagery and measuring software today announced that Milwaukee's City Assessor's Office recently took delivery of the company's oblique aerial imaging database of the area and software. The City Assessor's Office is tasked with ensuring fair market valuation of every city home. By using Pictometry, the Assessor's office will be able to improve efficiencies and provide more informed and equalized valuations through the use of Pictometry's oblique aerial imaging technology.

Pictometry's industry leading software enables users to easily access up to 20 different oblique (at an angle in a 3D-like manner) views of any property, building, highway, or other feature. The software also enables users to obtain measurements such as distance, height, elevation, and area directly from the oblique imagery as well as overlay GIS data and create fully textured Real3D(tm) models. The company has aerial photographed approximately 50% of where the U.S. population resides and anticipates having 80% of the developed U.S. covered in 2007.

The City of Milwaukee is the 19th largest city in the United States, encompassing over 90 square miles with a population of over 550,000 residents. The City's Assessor's Office is responsible for arriving at proper taxable valuations of all properties in its jurisdiction. Valuations in the jurisdiction exceeded 24 billion dollars in 2005.
