CAMBRIDGE, UK, September 29, 2006 - The GeoInformation Group, publishers of Cities Revealed aerial photography, announce today that for the second year running, the BBC is using Cities Revealed high-resolution aerial photography to track the route of The Great North Run participants. The Great North Run, the world’s biggest half marathon, is a 13.1 mile course which runs from Newcastle Upon Tyne to South Shields and takes place on Sunday 1 October, 2006.

In addition, the Junior Great North Run is taking place tomorrow, Saturday 30 September, and CBBC will be there to broadcast the whole event live on the CBBC Channel, including images of the race route over Cities Revealed aerial imagery. The race is a mile long and starts in Newcastle Quayside, crosses the Swing Bridge and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge before finishing back in Newcastle.

The images attached are courtesy of CBBC and the Cities Revealed aerial imagery is Copyright The GeoInformation Group 2005.
