August 22, 2007 - Toronto, Ontario — Geosoft, a leading provider of software and solutions for earth exploration, today announced it has completed acquisition of the software and all associated intellectual property assets of Northwest Geophysical Associates Inc. (NGA).

Geosoft helps to make the experience of finding, using and sharing data more natural and powerful for exploration professionals, accelerating knowledge development and empowering mission-critical decisions within the mineral and petroleum exploration industries and Earth Sciences markets. The acquisition strengthens Geosoft leadership position, and breadth of data visualization and modeling capabilities for petroleum explorers identifying new locations of potential reservoirs.

"With the acquisition of GM-SYS now complete, we look forward to continuing high quality service and support to GM-SYS customers," said Tim Dobush, Geosoft CEO. "The acquisition also presents new and exciting opportunities to further integrate and simplify workflows for our customer base, and extend our range of capabilities for earth explorers around the globe"

Geosoft assumes all sales, marketing and development for GM-SYS, GM-SYS 3D and associated software products. NGA developers, Tom Popowski, Jim Roy, and Vivek Narendra, join Geosoft’s Research and Development group. Gerry Connard, former principal of NGA, continues to work closely with Geosoft in a consulting role.
