INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., August 21, 2007 – The Schneider Corporation announced today, at their Annual GIS Users Conference held in Ames, Iowa, enhancements to their geogear™ suite of products, as well a new online training and resource portal for their clients.
The geogear suite of products, which is used to help facilitate the maintenance and application of GIS data, will now include a new product, ripple™, and a major upgrade of their existing product, agland™.
Ripple™ provides desktop integration via automated connections to CAMA, Tax and other types of applications which are frequently used by local governments. GIS professionals and state and local government officials can now link their GIS to these various tools from companies such as Vanguard, Solutions, Mantatron, Tyler and others.
The Schneider Corporation is eager to see how ripple’s integration with the leading CAMA and Tax applications will benefit their clients.
"We have likened this product to a pebble dropped into a lake. The affects of ripple will most certainly impact the entire organization," said Jeff Corns, Vice President of GIS at The Schneider Corporation.
Ripple also simplifies the querying of data across different applications all within the desktop environment allowing for streamlined quality control and permanent parcel numbering. In addition to providing integration with other applications, ripple automates the creation of pre-defined maps which give GIS clients easy access to numerous quick map solutions which they may frequently use.
The upgraded version of agland™, which is already the industry leader in GIS-based agricultural land assessment, will help clients to increase their overall productivity when using and interpreting GIS data
"It is always important to us to listen to the needs of our clients and to make desired upgrades, so we can continue to make land assessment an easier task,” said Corns. “Our clients are very excited to use the new release of agland.”
Besides the two new additions to the geogear suite, The Schneider Corporation introduced basecamp™, the new online training and resource portal for GIS users which is available to all GIS clients of The Schneider Corporation, including GIS professionals and state and local government officials. A hub for information on The Schneider Corporation’s geogear suite of tools, basecamp allows GIS, local and state government professionals access to relevant information related to GIS.
The online portal offers clients a series of training courses, tips & tricks, guides & manuals, downloads, and much more. With basecamp, all this information is easily accessible and will allow GIS professionals to continually advance their knowledge of how to better utilize GIS technology.
