Karen Morley Joins TerraGo® Technologies

ATLANTA, GA – February 12, 2007 – TerraGo Technologies, provider of GeoPDF®, the format for distributing geospatial intelligence in PDF files, announced today that Karen Morley has joined the company as senior director of marketing. Morley brings 25 years of experience covering a range of geospatial industry disciplines and product marketing expertise to the rapidly growing software company.

Morley joins TerraGo Technologies after tenures at LizardTech and Autodesk. She began her career in the geospatial industry in the United States Air Force as a target intelligence specialist.

“Karen has in-depth industry experience as well as a very successful track record in product management and marketing,” says James Davis, TerraGo Technologies president and CEO. “We believe her knowledge and marketing skills will help the company effectively position our products and services to fully leverage the opportunity presented by an ever-increasing demand for geospatial data across organizations, internally and externally.”

That bourgeoning demand paves the way for products that make it simple for geospatial professionals to distribute mapping data over much broader audiences with varied technology skills. GeoPDF is the only geospatial data distribution format that leverages Adobe® Reader®, a widely available tool, to give connected and disconnected workers controlled access to geospatial data in a format they already understand utilizing an application they already have. Using GeoPDF, anyone can connect to geospatial data and collaborate with other users to share information.

“The further you get from the GIS epicenter, the less experience users have with complex geospatial technologies creating barriers between GIS professionals and the people who want access to their information,” says Morley. “TerraGo Technologies provides simple access to complex geospatial data that can benefit a majority of people. The applications and possibilities of that value proposition are virtually limitless.”

Morley studied astronomy at the University of Hawaii, economics at Temple University and was an honor graduate of the Community College of the Air Force where she studied remote sensing and photogrammetry. She is a member of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), the Geospatial Information Technologies Association (GITA), the Association of International Product Marketing and Management (AIPMM) and the American Marketing Association (AMA).
