Goldsboro, NC - Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announced today that the City of
Alexandria, Virginia has procured software and services from GTG. The City procured additional licenses
of GTG’s LGmobile to expand the City’s existing LG platform and purchased an upgrade of LGmobile and
LGdispatch to LGcommunity connect.
LGmobile is the latest breakthrough in mobile software solutions. LGmobile is a field-based mobile GIS
mapping software solution used in public safety vehicles. It has a simple, easy-to-use interface that allows
users to access important and vital dispatch and GIS information. Active incidents, AVL units and specific
user events are all readily available within LGmobile.
LGcommunity connect is a GIS software solution that allows both HTE Land and Public Safety users to
integrate AVL with LG software. The software allows GPS enabled vehicles to be tracked via the GIS
interface. It takes GPS data from vehicles and places a moving map symbol on the GIS map interface that
corresponds to the vehicles location in the real world. Historical AVL information is maintained with the
product.
Curtis Hinton, CEO and Co-owner of GTG, stated, “We are excited to continue to work with the City of
Alexandria. We have worked side-by-side with Alexandria staff to provide the latest and most productive
GIS Public Safety tools on the market. This latest push for mobile computing and AVL will enable the City’s
Public Safety staff with information that will allow them to do their job better, quicker, and safer.”
