Colorado Division Of Wildlife Chooses Delorme Xmap 5.0 For Law Enforcement, Search And Rescue

YARMOUTH, ME ¯ DeLorme, a leading GIS software and data developer today announced that its XMap 5.0 GIS Enterprise software has been chosen by the Colorado Division of Wildlife to complement the agency's existing geospatial software.
The purchase is aimed at facilitating law enforcement and rescue work. Enforcement officers are using XMap 5.0 software to access and distribute critical GIS data layers for use in the field.
XMap 5.0 has already been deployed successfully to help with an investigation of hunting law violations and the search and rescue of a lost hunter. In both cases XMap provided field access to essential data including aerial imagery, land use and land cover, elevation for 3-D terrain modeling, and property boundary layers. XMap's integrated GPS support and data collection capability allowed the agency's officers to make full use of their GIS in a mobile situation.
