Redlands, California — The 2007 ESRI Developer Summit brings new capabilities to developers who plan to use the ESRI software development platform to build, customize, and deploy spatially enabled applications. The three and one-half day conference, held in Palm Springs, California, March 19–22, offers guidance and insight into using ArcGIS to create and deploy geographic information system (GIS) functionality and business logic wherever it is needed—on desktops, servers (including the Web), and mobile devices.
Attendees will increase their GIS software development skills in both intermediate and advanced seminars; network with ESRI software development teams representing all areas of the ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, Mobile GIS, Web Services, .NET and Java, geoprocessing, and ArcGIS Explorer; and interact with other GIS developers, industry leaders, and ESRI staff.
The ESRI Developer Summit is targeted to developers and software architects interested in the ESRI developer platform. Attendees do not need to be ESRI software users to benefit.
The featured keynote speaker this year will be Mark Driver, vice president and research director at Gartner Research. He will speak about the strengths and weaknesses of the Java and .NET environments. He will also discuss the trade-offs that should be considered in shaping your technical architecture.
Technical sessions will include content on developing and deploying server GIS, custom mobile solutions, enterprise integration, core GIS concepts, customizing and extending ArcGIS Desktop, best practices, and a panel discussion with ESRI software architects. Tech Talks will follow each session, giving developers a chance to meet and interact with the development teams in an informal environment in the community center.
On the first day of the ESRI Developer Summit, there will be a GIS EXPO where visitors can see solutions offered by ESRI partners.
Early bird registration is offered until February 16, 2007. Register online at www.esri.com/devsummit. If you have any questions, contact the conference registrar at 909-793-2853, extension 1-2371, or devsummit@esri.com. The registration deadline is March 2, 2007.
