ROCHESTER, NY - June 11, 2007 - Pictometry International Corp., the worldwide leader in digital, aerial oblique imagery and easy-to-use measuring software systems today announced its imaging production capabilities took over 22,000,000 unique aerial photos during the time frame of January 1, 2007 through May 31, 2007. Pictometry has digitally imaged the land areas where approximately 65% of the U.S population resides. The company anticipates having 80% of the U.S. population centers aerially photographed in high-resolution, digital oblique format by the end of 2007.
The company also announced today that it has joined the National Emergency Numbering Association's (NENA) NG (Next Generation) Partner Program. The NG Partner Program represents the efforts of NENA's members and allies to create a public-private partnership to further needed dialogue to improve the nation's 9-1-1 system.
Pictometry's proven technology for improving responses to calls for service at leading 9-1-1 centers enables 9-1-1 dispatchers to view up to 20 oblique (3D-like) aerial photos of every square foot in their jurisdiction. The software also enables users to instantly obtain measurements such as distance, height, and areas directly from the Intelligent Images(r) as well as overlay GIS data and create fully textured, Pictometry Real3D(tm) models. Pictometry will be exhibiting at the 26th Annual NENA 9-1-1 Conference and trade show in Charlotte, NC in booth number 217 on June 11-12, 2007.
Pictometry has the most advanced and experienced, research and development organization for georeferenced, oblique aerial imaging technology in the world. The company can process over 500,000 high-resolution aerial images on a daily basis and has processed over a petabyte of aerial data in the past two years. Pictometry has 17 patents in process, 50 domestic imaging capture systems, and has developed the digital camera calibration technology used by the U.S. Geological Survey.
Pictometry has gained significant acceptance from its proven results in vital public safety applications that include helping 9-1-1 centers rapidly locate landline and cellular calls for service, rapid response for delivering post disaster imaging, and providing SWAT teams and fire fighters with a touch screen software interface for mobile deployments for en route as well as on-the-scene tactical planning. The company has established business partnerships with over 25 leading public safety mapping and dispatch technology companies. Using Pictometry, counties can achieve Visual Interoperability(tm) where imagery of incident locations can be shared between responding agencies for more informed and better coordinated responses. A case study on Pictometry's public safety applications can be found at www.pictometry.com/casestudies/ps-07.asp. A video on how Monroe County, NY's award winning 9-1-1 communication center is using Pictometry can be found on Pictometry's homepage at www.pictometry.com.
"Our proven capability to capture, process, and quickly deliver large amounts of georeferenced oblique aerial data is unsurpassed in the industry, in any part of the world," said Dante Pennacchia, chief marketing officer at Pictometry. "We take pride that our technology was invented in the U.S. Our clients have peace of mind knowing that we control the entire process from research and software development, initial flight imaging capture, to processing, installation, training, and customer service."
