Stevenage, Herts. UK. 12 June, 2007. – Digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software developer Cadcorp has become one of the first companies in the GIS industry to be awarded both ISO/IEC 27001:2005 and ISO 9001:2000 certification.

ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification relates to the management of information security within an organisation. It was awarded to Cadcorp on 27 April, 2007 by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance and applies to the company’s management of its IT infrastructure and data in support of all company activities at its London and Stevenage offices.

One month earlier, on 22 March, 2007, the company received renewal of its existing ISO 9001:2000 certification, again from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, for the quality management system applicable to the design, development, installation and distribution of software for GIS, as well as the company’s associated project management, application development, customer training and consultancy services.

“We are proud to be one of only a small number of UK companies to gain both ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certification,” said Mike O’Neil, managing director, Cadcorp. “It confirms our ongoing commitment to the highest standards of operational efficiency and helps our customers to have confidence in our ability to deliver GIS solutions in a timely, secure and efficient manner.”
