Franklin, Tennessee — January 07, 2007 — Smart Data Strategies, Inc., a leading provider of GIS software products and services for local, state, and federal government agencies today announced that it has completed the GIS Services project for Dawson County, Georgia. The project included a clean-up of the existing AutoCad data, a parcel comparison with the GIS and WinGap CAMA system, and a migration to an ESRI personal geodatabse. Smart Data Startegies, who was selected from a pool of 13 GIS vendors, completed the project within the aggressive timframe of the county and on budget.

Dawson County is now preparing to implement Smart Data Strategies’ Web-enabled Mapping and Analysis Program (WeMAP). WeMAP allows the county to outsource all of its parcel maintenance to Smart Data Strategies at a fraction of the cost of doing it in-house. WeMAP clients have the ability to scan conveyance documents and route them through a secure upload site utilizing Smart Data Strategies’ proprietary web-enabled Transaction Manager. Upon arrival of the documents, the WeMAP team begins the update of the client’s GIS data and project files for assessment analysis and data distribution via the web. This can be performed on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. Other counites already enrolled with WeMAP include Butler County AL, Crenshaw County AL, Dallas County AL, and Lamar County AL.

Smart Data Strategies has a wide range of strengths and has proven to be a valuable asset to Dawson County. Their personell are a pleasure to work with and the end product is superb.” - C. Lynn Tully – Dawson County Planning Director
