28th February 2007, Cambridge, UK. 1Spatial is pleased to announce Geo:connexion as a media supporter of their inaugural Conference: ‘Fit For Purpose’ (2-3rd May at Ordnance Survey Business Centre, Southampton, UK).
Geo:connexion is the industry-leading magazine for geoinformation professionals, delivering in-depth features, thought-provoking comment and up-to-the-minute news. The title is published in two editions: International (circulated globally) and UK (circulated in the UK) and is available both in print and online: http://www.geoconnexion.com
Mai Ward, Publisher, Geo:connexion, commented:
"In addressing key issues surrounding spatial data management, the 1Spatial conference has consistently attracted an informed audience and provided a forum for impassioned discussion on technology trends. We are delighted to maintain our support for this event as 1Spatial goes from strength-to-strength in pioneering solutions that help users validate and share geographic information ever more effectively."
Graham Stickler, Product and Marketing Director, 1Spatial added:
"1Spatial is delighted that Geo:connexion have again chosen to support our conference. As one of the leading publications for the geographic sector, their backing ensures that the important messages from this year’s conference will reach a truly global audience."
The 1Spatial Conference, also supported by Oracle, will create a forum for the discussion of the integration of spatial data in enterprise IT architectures and the creation of Spatial Data Infrastructures. It will be a global platform, an industry-leading event and the first of its kind. The conference allies spatial data processing with mainstream IT issues for the first time in a conference event. The timing is important as Europe in particular embark though initiatives such as INSPIRE and strive to expand the use and sharing of spatial data from legacy GIS into open, accessible spatial data infrastructures. The world at large also demands even greater access to mapping across the worldwide web.
Registration for the 1Spatial Conference 2007 is now open. To learn more and register, please visit www.1spatial.com/conference or email conference@1spatial.com
