Full Support for FDCC Security Policies Included in ArcGIS Desktop Products

Redlands, CA — ESRI now supports the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) security policies on all ArcGIS Desktop 9.2 products. The FDCC, as defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, provides guidelines for implementing security on computer hardware that runs either Microsoft Windows Vista or XP Professional operating systems.
The federal government is a major user of geographic information system (GIS) technology and utilizes the ArcGIS Desktop 9.2 products extensively. With full support for FDCC, ESRI provides federal agencies with assurance that the products they use adhere to the mandated security policies. Standardizing on security and security configuration enables better enforcement while reducing the total cost of ownership.
