2008 GIS for Oil & Gas Call for Papers Deadline Approaching

Aurora, CO — The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) announced that the Call for Papers deadline for its 17th Annual GIS for Oil & Gas Conference is April 21, 2008. The conference is set for Sept. 21-24, 2008, in Houston, Texas.

With the theme Geospatially Fueled Solutions, the 2008 GIS for Oil & Gas Conference will focus on geospatial solutions to common oil and gas problems. The conference is the largest event of its kind, and has seen record attendance for the past four years with more than 550 attendees in 2003 and 780 attendees at the 2007 event.

The broad topics of the Call for Papers are designed to let presenters customize their papers even more than before. The five topics are:

  • Business Process Integration
  • Corridor Management
  • Emergency Response/Damage Prevention
  • New and Evolving Technology
  • Regulatory Compliance and Integrity Management
