GeODC Expansion Set to Help Local Government Improve Information
Printer Friendly versionPrinter Friendly

Oxford, UK - Data capture specialist GeODC has announced a major expansion of its local government project management team. The move is in response to demand amongst UK councils for expert help during major projects such as capturing planning records, Geographical Information System (GIS) data digitisation and document scanning.

GeODC’s services enable council’s to provide wide access to quality-assured information through their customer-facing systems. The expanded project management capability is in response to demand within UK local government to join up data and deliver better public services through centralised contact centres, help desks and via the web. GeODC’s work is vitally important in preparing council data for public access by ensuring records - that can go back more than 50 years - are both easily accessible and accurate.

“It is clear from our local government sites that help is needed when planning and undertaking major data capture and conversion projects. Backed by many years of experience managing projects for local government, our project managers provide vital expertise and hands on support to ensure smooth transition from paper based to computerised systems.” Comments Craig Godwin, Managing Director of GeODC.

GeODC is part of a 500-strong data capture organisation based in North America, India and the UK which has more than 25 years experience of delivering data solutions to both public and private sector organisations. A joint venture between Oxford Data Capture and Genesys International Corporation, GeODC provides data conversion and data capture services primarily for UK local authorities.

GeODC services include the scanning of historical maps and records, capture of textual documents and digitisation of GIS data from plans and maps. “We offer a very flexible approach to every project combined with certified quality control procedures and experienced staff, dedicated client support, local project management and value for money,” said Craig Godwin, Managing Director. “The joint venture with Genesys enables us to increase our capacity and improve efficiencies yet still offer our Clients’ dedicated client support, local project management and value for money.”
