Online Access to Caltrans Cameras in San Bernardino County Expands for Los Angeles Area Commuters
Printer Friendly versionPrinter Friendly

TrafficLand(R), the largest, authorized aggregator of live traffic video has reached an agreement with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to integrate up to 190 Caltrans traffic cameras into its national network; TVISN(TM) (Transportation Video Information Sharing Network). Under the agreement, the TrafficLand TVISN system will be installed at the agency's Riverside Traffic Management Center to increase available video update rates and expand access to the public, first responders, media and others. Video from the Caltrans cameras is available to commuters on TrafficLand's Web site, www.trafficland.com, which provides real-time access to more than 6,000 traffic cameras, in over 60 markets worldwide.

Access to the Caltrans cameras, located primarily along I-10, I-15 and I-215 and State Routes 210 and 60 will also be available through the TrafficLand Video Distribution System(TM)--a more robust service designed for first responders and media http://corporate.trafficland.com/services/publicSafety.html.

TrafficLand.com uses Google maps to display camera locations along local roadways. Web site users click camera icons to view live video and they can customize and save camera displays showing frequently traveled routes and receive live images from them by email. Access to Caltrans traffic cameras by Web-enabled cell phones, BlackBerry's and other Smartphone devices is also available through the company's AirVideo(TM) service.

"TrafficLand's expanding relationship with Caltrans will bring the full benefits of traffic video access to the aid of Los Angeles area commuters," said Lawrence Nelson, Founder and CEO of TrafficLand. "Nationwide, our unique ability to package traffic video in ways that fit into busy lifestyles, is helping commuters make more informed travel decisions and public safety personnel improve emergency response outcomes."

About TrafficLand, Inc.
TrafficLand has developed patent-pending technology to enable reliable distribution of thousands of CCTV (closed circuit television) video feeds from multiple Departments of Transportation camera networks. The company aggregates and broadcasts live traffic video via the Internet, and through its media partners. To aid emergency response and incident management, first responders and federal emergency management agencies can access an enhanced traffic video application through a single, secure interface called TrafficLand Video Distribution System(TM) (VDS).
