First Arctic Oil and Gas Resources Assessment

The U.S. Geological Survey has completed the first publicly available assessment of the Arctic in its entirety to estimate how much of the world's undiscovered, technically recoverable oil and gas resources are there. The first results, which are the very highest level overview, will be released today.

Technically recoverable resources are those producible using currently available technology and industry practices. The USGS is the only provider of publicly available estimates of undiscovered, technically recoverable oil and gas resources.

What:
The USGS is hosting a press conference on the USGS Circum-Arctic Resource Appraisal and its results. A PowerPoint presentation will be given on the assessment.
