Cambridge – 29 March 2008 - The GeoInformation® Group, publishers of Cities Revealed aerial photography (www.citiesrevealed.com), announce today that it has been honoured with the Small Business of the Year award by the Cambridge Evening News. Chief Executive Officer, Seppe Cassettari and Managing Director, Alun Jones were presented the award by BBC Radio 2 and Panorama broadcaster Jeremy Vine last night at a gala dinner at Kings College, Cambridge.

The award comes on the eve of the company’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Seppe Cassettari and Alun Jones formed the company following a management buy out from Pearson Publishing in 1998 and have taken the company from strength to strength. With innovation at the core of the business The GeoInformation Group has been a pioneer in production and delivery of high quality spatial information. It employs twenty staff in its Cambridge headquarters and around forty staff in the production centre in South Africa. In the last ten years the company has seen a healthy and steady rise in its annual turnover, closing the 2007 tax year with a turnover of £2.2 million.

Seppe Cassettari commented, “Alun and I are delighted to receive this prestigious award and to share it with our staff. We are privileged to have such a strong and dedicated team who contribute to the overall success of the company. Next Tuesday marks the official tenth anniversary of The GeoInformation Group but with this award it looks as if we can start the celebrations a bit earlier!”
