MADISON, WI – May 5, 2008 – GeoAnalytics® Inc., an IT consulting firm that specializes in the planning, design, and implementation of spatial intelligence systems, has been retained by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to provide professional services to develop a GIS-based Local Forecast Data Collection Application.
GeoAnalytics will assist CMAP with the design, development, and deployment of a GIS-based application for displaying and analyzing proposed land use changes for use at meetings with local government officials. CMAP is preparing a regional comprehensive plan which integrates land use and transportation planning for Northeastern Illinois. The plan will consider economic development, environment, housing, and human services, and will result in a series of recommendations for planning strategies and investments.
GeoAnalytics will work with CMAP to configure and customize the GIS–based CommunityViz Scenario 360 software application from Placeways, LLC. The application will be used in support of CMAP regional comprehensive plan development and the development of household and employment projections used in Chicago metropolitan area regional planning evaluations. CMAP’s planning region encompasses 7 counties in northeastern Illinois covering over 4,000 square miles.
“This tool will be indispensable to our projections process and will facilitate our discussions with local officials in an efficient and effective manner that is both collaborative and transparent,” said Jack Pfingston, Senior Forecast Analyst for CMAP.
