HNTB Begins Enterprise GIS Implementation Project

HNTB Corporation has begun a project to implement Phase II of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District’s (MMSD) enterprise geographic information system (GIS). The project entails the delivery of 11 GIS applications and related elements. The 11 applications, built on ESRI’s ArcGIS Server platform, will help MMSD facilitate effective and efficient decision making, streamline business processes and procedures, protect investments and assets, improve communication both internally and externally and enhance data maintenance procedures. The project includes software development, system architecture implementation, document management system implementation and integration, enterprise geodatabase implementation, data conversion, software training and technical support.

HNTB’s application developers are currently refining the software framework to be used for all MMSD’s Web-based applications. To apply HNTB’s Spatial QuickBuildTM framework technology to rapidly construct the ArcGIS Server applications, HNTB has partnered with Latitude Geographics. HNTB will use their Geocortex Essentials technology to provide tools and features to accelerate development and deployment of MMSD’s ArcGIS Server-based applications. Geocortex Essentials provides cutting-edge tools, processes and features that give an organization a powerful jumpstart to build and maintain ESRI ArcGIS Server applications.
