Richmond Hill, Ontario – PCI Geomatics, a world leading developer of software and solutions for geospatial imaging applications, is pleased to announce that the Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives (MAFRI) has selected PCI Geomatics’ technology and training services to support its soil survey projects at 1:20000 and 1:50000 scale.

The Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives works with rural and northern communities to accelerate the greater prosperity and capacity of agricultural producers, other entrepreneurs, industry and rural and northern communities by providing leadership and a range of information, programs and services in support of vibrant rural and northern communities.

“We selected PCI Geomatics because of its excellent reputation as a world leader in image processing, and it’s broad depth of offerings,” said Lynn Manaigre, Manager – Soil and Landscape Management Section, Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives.

“By choosing PCI Geomatics, MAFRI was able to acquire an end-to-end solution for their remote sensing needs,” said Steven Corr, Account Manager at PCI Geomatics. “Interoperability was a key requirement for MAFRI. We were able to assemble a solution that involved both PCI Geomatics and Definiens technology - guaranteeing interoperability with the infrastructure they already had in place.”

MAFRI will be using PCI Geomatics’ flagship software Geomatica®. With full raster and vector integration and support for over 100 geospatial data formats, Geomatica offers solutions for geomatics processing, while maintaining complete interoperability with outside software packages.
