Redlands, CA - October 7, 2008 - Professionals using ESRI’s geographic information system (GIS) technology are encouraged to submit an abstract for possible presentation at the 2009 ESRI International User Conference (ESRI UC). ESRI invites users to play an active role in the conference by sharing their experiences with GIS and presenting a paper during a moderated session. The deadline for abstract submissions is October 17, 2008.

“This is a chance to convey how you use GIS—an opportunity to share and discuss valuable experiences, tips, and information useful to other professionals,” said ESRI president Jack Dangermond. “The inspiration and collaboration that stems from user presentations is what helps attendees be successful with GIS.”

From research activities to enterprise-wide project implementation, the wide range of presentation topics each year attracts users from all over the world who want to gain GIS insight. As a presenter, the reward from sharing best practices, enlightening and influencing others, and building a network of contacts is tremendous.

Next year’s ESRI UC will be held July 13–17 at the San Diego Convention Center in California. Authors submitting an abstract are asked to choose a session track that best fits their presentation; visit our Web site to learn more and view the submission guidelines. Abstracts can be submitted at www.esri.com/ucpapers.
