Sunnyvale, CA - Trimble (Nasdaq: TRMB) today announced that Jo-Carroll Energy, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative in Illinois, will be implementing its Geographic Information Systems (GIS)-based Trimble UtilityCenter(R) uaMaintenance(TM) module for utility field inspection and asset management. Jo-Carroll Energy is a member owned and controlled utility which provides electricity, natural gas and associated services at cost to its consumer members in Jo-Daviess, Carroll and Whiteside counties. The cooperative serves more than 25,000 commercial, industrial and residential customers.

Jo-Carroll Energy previously selected the Trimble UtilityCenter Software Suite for GIS utility mapping, outage management and field staking. The increased focus on system reliability and world class customer service has led Jo-Carroll Energy to extend the functionality of the Trimble UtilityCenter solution by adding the uaMaintenance module.

"We began to reap the benefits of Trimble's UtilityCenter solution almost immediately, and the decision to extend the technology by adding the maintenance module for our electricity and gas utility assets was the next logical step," said Kyle Buros, vice president of Engineering and Operations for Jo-Carroll Energy. "The technology is making both our field workers and our back-office support teams more efficient, more productive and better able to use the data in our GIS."

"Jo-Carroll Energy is committed to meeting the needs of its customers and UtilityCenter's comprehensive, scalable workflow capabilities can enable them to provide improved customer service, more efficient utilization of their GIS data as well as manage and maintain their utility assets to improve the overall efficiency of their daily operations," said Katherine Sandford, general manager of Trimble's Utilities Field Solutions Group.

Trimble's UtilityCenter software is currently used by more than 100 electric, gas, water and wastewater utilities throughout the U.S.

Trimble's Utilities Field Solutions group specializes in implementing enterprise mobile workforce, computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), asset management, field data collection, staking and inspection solutions for electric, gas, water/wastewater and solid waste utilities. Trimble's UtilityCenter, Fieldport(R), and Utility Fleet Manager enterprise solutions automate utility operations which can lead to increased field worker productivity, enhanced customer service and faster emergency response.

About Jo-Carroll Energy
Jo-Carroll Energy, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, is a member owned and controlled utility which provides electricity, natural gas and associated services at cost to its consumer members in Jo-Daviess, Carroll and Whiteside counties in Illinois. It serves more than 25,000 commercial, industrial and residential customers. Electric cooperatives were established by rural pioneers all across the country in the latter 1930s and early 1940s. Jo-Carroll Energy was organized as a nonprofit corporation in 1939. Cooperatives brought electricity to rural areas that the investor-owned utilities wouldn't or couldn't serve, turning on the lights for thousands of farmers and rural dwellers. Jo-Carroll Energy's first 20 miles of lines were energized on May 3, 1940.
