CartêGraph Offers Glimpse of New Applications
Printer Friendly versionPrinter Friendly

Dubuque, IA- CartêGraph Systems, Inc., the leading provider of location-based infrastructure management solutions, recently concluded its 11th Annual User Conference. Held October 5-8 in Dubuque, Iowa, the CartêGraph User Conference played host to over 160 attendees who travelled from as far away as Alaska and represented over 60 different organizations.

With a renewed emphasis on enterprise-wide solutions, CartêGraph utilized the User Conference forum to showcase the "enterprise-readiness" of their own suite of web, office, and mobile solutions. Most notable was the introduction of a pair of brand new CartêGraph applications. First to make its debut at the Conference was newly-available Request Portal, a web-based tool that augments an existing work management system by allowing community members-including citizens, employees, and elected officials-to personally report issues, initiate service requests, and track the status and history of existing issues.

Next, was a prototype version of the CartêGraph Dashboard, a centralized and customizable management tool designed to give upper management and supervisory associates immediate access to information, such as budget numbers, reports, and mapped locations of work crews. While the Dashboard remains in a development and testing phase, it has been scheduled for release sometime next year.

Sharing their vision for the future of infrastructure management, CartêGraph ushered in the proceedings by reiterating the municipal market's growing need for enterprise-ready solutions that address and refine all corners of the workflow spectrum-from the citizen, to the office, to the field, and beyond.

"If we think about the millions of dollars that even the smallest communities spend on infrastructure, or the billions that are spent in larger areas," said CartêGraph President and CEO, Scott Taylor, "it tells you that we really should have systems that more people understand the value of, and are connected in an overall enterprise."

Citing other recognized enterprise management systems-such as Client Relations Management (CRM), Information Technology (IT), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)-Taylor communicated the company’s firm belief that infrastructure management deserves the same respect that those systems have achieved within government at large.

"Infrastructure is one of the main functions of government," said Taylor, "and enterprise-ready is our way of elevating the discussion about infrastructure management to what we consider to be the highest level in a government organization."

Planning has already begun on the 12th Annual User Conference. The event will take place October 4-7, 2010, in Dubuque, Iowa. For further information on CartêGraph services, products-including the Request Portal—and events, please visit www.cartegraph.com.
