Nascent Info Technologies sponsored the event by way of funding the activity which was made available live through the Webcast. The main purpose of participation was to create awareness of the activities being carried out by Nascent in the field of IT and Geospatial applications. The event was lead and organised by Dr Veena Rao, Hon. Director, Centre for Remote Sensing and GIS (CRGIS). The event was attended by about 80 participants both from national and international platform besides students and faculty.

On behalf of Nascent, Dr. Aishwarya Narain who had delivered an invited talk on ‘Space Technology in Disaster Management’ on April 27, 2013 said, “The talk covered various types of natural disasters and its management using the various kinds of remote sensing data from satellite sensors. The advantage of Synthetic Aperture Radar was highlighted due to its all weather capability in damage assessment of flood affected areas.”
