Thomas R. Baker - Thomas is the GIS Education Specialist for the U.S. Department of Education Technology Innovation Challenge Grant, the KanCRN Collaborative Research Network. Thomas is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology with an emphasis in Geographic Visualization at the University of Kansas. At KanCRN, he is responsible for the design, development, and management of the grant’s international web presence, K-12 teacher professional development, multimedia development, and grant support/writing. These functions are each intricately tied to the creation and maintenance of KanCRN’s GIS initiative, an extensive effort that attempts to utilize spatial analysis processes and tools as integral components of collaborative student research.
