DRG Clip -- Datum Process

Once the DRG Clipper button has been selected the user will be prompted to select the appropriate UTM Datum for the 24K DRG file(s) to be clipped.

Selecting the Appropriate Datum

The Datum Selection Option

The selection of the DRG Clipper Button will prompt the user to identify the current datum of the 24K DRG files as shown below.

Failure by the user to select a datum will create the error message shown below. The clip process will not continue without the selection of a datum. Failure to select the correct datum will result in a poor clip and reduce the effectivness and accuracy of the DRG Clip program.

The Recode Selection Option

Once the user has selected the appropriate Datum they will be prompted to choose a Recode option to uniquely identify the clipped areas of the 24K DRG file(s). This menu option is shown below:

Once the Datum and Recode options have been completed by the user the DRG Clip program will automatically start the clip process

The DRG Clip process creates an output (clipped) file into the same directory as the original (unclipped) 24K DRG file. If the DRG Clip process recognizes that the output file already exist it will display the following Information Message:

The DRG Clip Process will take a couple of minutes to complete. The total amount of time will depend on the number of 24K DRG files being clipped. Please remember that all current Image Themes in ArcView will be processed. Upon completion of the DRG Clip Process the user will need to Add the clipped 24K DRG files into ArcView as new Image Themes.
