8th European Commission GI & GIS Workshop - The European Commission funds an annual workshop dedicated to Geographic Information and Geographic Information Systems. While much of the focus is on EC funded projects with a GI or GIS content, these Workshops have expanded into a forum for discussion of GI within the European Commission and at the European level. This year's Workshop will focus on the development of a European Spatial Data Infrastructure (ESDI), as envisaged by the Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe (INSPIRE) acitivity, an initiative of Directorate General Environment (DG-ENV).
