Partner Profile...GDC - a UK MapInfo Premier Partner
GDC - a UK MapInfo Premier Partner ... GDC is one of the UK largest MapInfo Partners and has recently become a Laser-Scan Partner with the remit of bringing the power of Laser-Scan's newest product, Radius Topology, to Local Government MapInfo users across the UK.
As well as offering Radius Topology as part of its standard product set, GDC will be integrating the Radius technology into its own software solutions. GDC have a wealth of experience in delivering enterprise wide GIS solutions to local authorities and have always recognised spatial databases as a key element in the success of these deployments.
As Steven Feldman, GDC’s General Manager, explains “Radius Topology will allow us to deliver products that will allow local government to get far more out of their existing spatial data. We are really excited about the possibilities that this technology presents, particularly within the e-government sphere where it will contribute to incorporating fundamental spatial elements into authorities’ e-strategies”
The first product to get the Radius ‘treatment’ will be PlanWeb 2, GDC’s web based GIS. Radius Topology will allow PlanWeb 2 to deliver full snapping and editing functionality across corporate intranets and the Internet. In the next few months GDC will be developing and launching a new product called GeoStore. This is a spatial data warehouse capable of handling data with topological intelligence and offering full multi-user level security control in a standard Oracle 9i database.
