Title: Generalisation...moving mountains, motorways and milestones

Presenter: Allison Reid, Laser-Scan

This workshop will complement the morning Generalisation session and will look in more detail at the recently added functionality, largely through demonstrations.

The demonstrations will focus on two areas of progress:

Improvements to algorithms for road and road network generalisation

This demonstration will look at some of the factors to be considered when generalising a road network. It will show how the new road algorithms are adaptive and how implicated objects such as bridges or boundaries that are related/connected to the network can be also taken into account and involved in the generalisation.

The new AGENT user interface

This demonstration will introduce the new user-friendly interface for setting the constraints and process methods used in the AGENT process.
